WARNING TO ALL EASTERNERS: Arizona pretends that Dick Clark drops the ball in Time Square at 12:00am MST and ABC stalwartly denies you the chance to watch it live, as it happens.
I expect this post will make more sense some hours after this bottle of wine has been consumed, but I shall type on regardless, just to use this opportunity to wish you a happy new year, Mook. ;) May 2007 bring you many a Scrabble victory and may I continue to find shameless giggles in your antics.
As a further word of expectation, Miz Boots and I turned on the television at 9:30 pm MST, expecting to watch the ball drop in NYC. At around 9:48, we realized that we were watching the reruns of the live stuff that was happening at 9:48 in Times Square, rather than what was going on live. We scrambled around, hoping to find some way to watch the 100th ball drop, live, as it happens, but as far as my entire time zone seemed to be concerned, it wasn't 2007 anywhere on the planet yet. By the time we got to the CNN footage, it was already too late.
Bootsie was so depressed by the whole thing that she called off the rest of the scrabble war, and went to bed.
