last.fm weekly roundup - my new stuff

Not surprisingly, all my top artists this week are either a). albums I've recently acquired or b). albums that I've had in Ogg Voris form which have been stuck in a playlist logjam until I started listening to my music using the new work iMac.

And They Might Be Giants. I don't really have an explanation for that other than the fact that I am a dork.

Not that B&S need any additional publicity, but this little minute-long hymn has shot to the top of my list:

One and the same-- I didn't even know until after I'd started listening to her. A friend of mine is going through a French phase, so I got some of her, Coralie Clement, and Paris Combo. She's sort of the bottom of the list.

I just got the Roxy Music greatest hits cd. I plan on getting more of their albums soon. I can't believe someone else listens to them!

The totally got me with their cover of "A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall." I'm not sure I'm that excited about them right now, but I sort of feel like anyone who gets a nod in Velvet Goldmine (the movie, not the song) deserves some consideration.

The trouble with taking a haul of several b&s albums and then letting them filter past my ears as part of my daily shuffle means that I don't have much of a sense for which albums I liked and which I didn't. I'll have to say that nothing on the albums I got beat out the tracks that I really like on "The Boy With The Arab Strap" or "The Life Pursuit", but there were a few I liked okay.

And you know, this one, which just made me giggle with glee.
