Anyway, I also have a collection of versions of "St. James Infirmary Blues", but that's going to have to wait, because this post took me 40 minutes to write mostly due to my computer repeatedly locking up.
Because, seriously, how could I not?
Not only did I work the new nearly job today, but I pretty uch went straight from that to hanging out at the yarn store until ten thirty. Yes, our yarn store has a night that they're open until ten thirty. Yes, it is part of my weekly social calendar to go hang out there.
On the radio this evening, i heard that Paris Hilton had been cut off from her inheritance. Delighted, but suspicious, I came home and went looking for citations. It was easy to find a few, but none of them seemed credible. Between not finding it on any of the more mainstream news sources and a few (still sketchy) sources saying the story was bunk, I'm willing to call the whole thing off. In my search, though, I also stumbled across a few other amusing entertainment news items:
- Danica "Winnie" "I Showed My Boobs In Stuff Magazine" McKellar is coming out with a book to encourage girls to learn math. Which is fair, I guess, since besides showing off her boobs in Stuff, she was also a math major.
- They've already decided to reshoot the pilot episode of "Cavemen". This one's heading for real television greatness, I tell you.
- Paris is, on the other hand, going to be in a Sci-Fi Thriller rock musical. Which is fair, I guess, since in addition to being a wealthy tramp, she is also living in a world that is not our own.
- I found this version of Wonderwall in my Richard Cheese folder, but it's clearly not him. I am as yet undecided if it's the Paul Anka version, or the The Mike Flowers Pops version. Knowing nothing of either one, I can't really say. Anyone recognize it?
- Meanwhile, Rupert Murdoch is waiting for the i's to dot and the t's to cross before he acquires Dow Jones. I am uncertain why, but this prospect gives me the screaming heebie jeebies.
