I am almost certain you've had enough of me pimping my friend's creative endeavors, but this is the first time I've seen him do an actual write up of Devil Schlock, so bear with me:
The Scurvy Pirates show set for tonight at Otto's Shrunken Head has magically transformed into a Devil Schlock show. This has occurred via the three “L’s”, Legerdemain, Laziness and Lack of a strong managerial staff.
I’m going to make up some lies…I’m ALWAYS getting e-mails back from you Pirates fans asking “Who IS/ARE Devil Schlock?” “Are they any good?” “Are they really a cover band?” “Is Maddog Single?”
YES to all those questions! Devil Schlock is Devin Quin and Jason “Maddog” Madison’s cover band of the Misfits. Here is a handy info sandwich re: the Misfits for ya’:

Ukulele and Accordion based Misfits covers with costumes and eye make-up. It does for Horror-Punk what the Pirates do for Pirate-Core.
Come out and Date Maddog tonight at Ottos. He’s a nice, sweet boy, son of a Preacher Man, and will love you forever.

C'mon, FREE SHOW. All you have to do is show up and drink, how bad could it be? I actually have never seen a Devil Schlock performance, so you can color me jealous if you can actualy make it out to see him.
And now a word from our (other) sponsor:
Last night we got some fancy steaks from the fancy healthy food grocery store up on Shea and we used our new Cuisinart Griddler to sear them up. It was incredibly tasty and I can forsee the phrase, "Griddle me this, Batman" coming into extensive use in our kitchen over the coming months. Until I've used it so much that she threatens to strangle me every time I say it again. Heh. I have a nice lace scarf in the works for her, but since it was my first lace project and the super fine yarn kept turning into jumbles while I was working with it, I decided to revamp our knitting blog as a sort of temporary gift until I got a few more hours of knitting time.
In other novelty band news, the esteemed Devin T. Quin will be on stage again as Devil Schlock. Devil Schlock is, as far as I know, where Mr. Quinn puts on a set of fake rubber muscles and covers the Misfits on accordion. So, yeah, if you live in New York, you should totally go. From their email:
That's this Saturday (Feb 17) at Redd's Tavern in Brooklyn. Since I don't have any Devil Schlock recordings, or even Slim, Shorty, and the Mules' "Grocery Store of the Damned", I leave you with The Upper Crust. The Upper Crust is more or less what would happen if you sent AC/DC back in time and set them up as 18th century noblemen. In my movie, they will be the arch nemeses of The Decemberists or something. Here's a nice song about a gentlemanly past time:AND DEVIL SCHLOCK! Devin T. Quin’s side project, a MISFIT’S cover band! Arg, Devil Schlock is the cheapest Misfit’s cover band in New Jersey, and their Mom is driving them all the way to Brooklyn for a special anniversary show. Arg, What be the anniversary? It’s been AT LEAST a fuggin year since these idiots have had a show!
