In honor of Emily Sears' struggle with her local recycling authorities:
On the bright side, it's a pay week for Boots.
In spite of a decent amount of sleep last night, I still feel groggy and sluggish. Maybe I need some B vitamins or something.
It's not like we did anything exciting this weekend. I lost a pair of sunglasses that I'd had for a week and discovered I'd overdrawn my account and ended up with nearly $140 in overdraft fees. Luckily, this isn't part of our requirements to prove that we're responsible enough to procreate, or Boots would have been especially annoyed at me.
That thing about the psychic on Friday was true. Seriously. She pictured me "jackhammering away" on Bootsy, and couldn't get the image out of her head. And that's just the *ahem* tip of the inapproproate comments she made in telling our futures.
Speaking of penises, though, I made a baby rattle this weekend that needed some serious help to look like something a child ought to be allowed to handle. Pictures to co-- er, follow later.
In less indecent news, between matokie and Iris, I've dusted off my Breeders discs and been reminded how much I adore Kim Deal.
I made some flippant comment about multip-part epics to Grumble Bunny about The Decemberists' "The Tain", so here it is:
Also, Sweet Misery thought she might need a robot cowboy to go with her robot ponies. I couldn't find a robot cowboy, but there's always a coin-operated boy:
- We all chipped in and bought an Office Christmas Present this year. A Michael Graves coffee maker. We now have hot coffee available for the entire day. While I prefer my Vietnamese iced coffee, I have trouble resisting the idea of keeping my mug full with regular coffee once I'm done. As such, my heart is probably going to explode in about thirty seconds.
- I have been hemming and hawing about making another post about Flock the "social" web browser. Sometime since I finally wrote them off, they came out with their real 1.0 version, and I've been using it at work. I think it's fairly groovy, but a). I don't have a Facebook account (and don't want to get one unless there's a really good reason) and I am really curious about how Flock interfaces with it; b). the LiveJournal support is great, now that I'm really really convinced I don't want to use LiveJournal for anything; c). I'm already using Shrook for RSSing up my VOX 'hood and related mp3 files, so I'm not really sure what I've gained by using Flock other than not having to install the del.icio.us FireFox plugin. Basically, I'm saying it's neat, but I'm still not totally sure what it's good for. Sort of like that Me.dium thing. Anyway, if any of you are crazy early adopter people, I'd love it if you snagged you some Flock and let me know if you came up with any clever ideas about what you can do with it.
